Brock and Lucy

Here's another coupling from the Pokemon anime that gets my fanboy blood pumping. It's been a running gag for seasons prior to Best Wishes that Brock is a repressed Romeo-wannabe, flirting with any and every attractive female character he encounters. Well, when the anime got to the Battle Frontier, the writers came up with the notion of Brock seeming to not only have genuine attraction to Pike Queen Lucy, but Lucy herself having an unspoken crush on Brock. Here is a woman who often carries herself with a serious air suddenly being flattered by someone who genuinely seems to mean his words. It's a total shame in my opinion that this relationship was never explored in the series and that Lucy only appeared in one episode. Perhaps if she had become a recurring character, Lucy would have been the woman who'd have gotten Brock to settle down once and for all.
