Owls have long been regarded as ominous birds. They have been mistaken for ghosts for the way they silently fly about in the dark night sky. Their calls send chills down the spine late at night. There is even a superstition saying that to see an owl fly during the day is an omen of death. The Owlman was first sighted in Cornwall during 1976 perched on the roof of a church, which is where most sightings of this cryptid have appeared. No harm has come to those who have seen this unexplained being, but the very presence of the Owlman is enough to cause a considerable amount of fear.
